Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor farmer and his only son. The farmer loved his son more than anything in the world. He worked hard in his fields day in and day out to provide for his son, and he dreamed of a better future for him.
One day, his son fell seriously ill, and despite the farmer’s best efforts, the boy’s condition continued to deteriorate. The farmer searched high and low for a cure, visiting every village doctor he could find. But none of them could offer any hope.
Desperate for a solution, the farmer finally took his son to the best doctor in town. The doctor tried every treatment he knew, but to no avail. Finally, he told the farmer that there was nothing more he could do.
Overcome with grief and frustration, the farmer began to lose hope. He prayed fervently for his son’s recovery but to no avail. He spent every moment at his son’s bedside, hoping against hope that a miracle would occur.
The doctor felt helpless as he watched the farmer suffer, knowing that there was nothing he could do to ease his pain. He felt a deep sense of empathy for the farmer and his son.
Eventually, the boy passed away, leaving the farmer devastated. The doctor dreaded the thought of delivering the news to the farmer, fearing that it would break his heart.
To his surprise, however, when the farmer arrived at the hospital, he seemed unusually happy. The doctor was puzzled by this reaction but knew that he had to break the news to the farmer.
To his astonishment, the farmer did not break down in tears as he had expected. Instead, he appeared calm and composed. The doctor couldn’t understand how someone could be so indifferent to the death of their only child.
When the farmer visited his son’s body, he still did not cry. The doctor was bewildered and asked the farmer how he could be so calm in the face of such tragedy.
The farmer then shared his dream with the doctor. In his dream, he was a king, with a beautiful queen and five wonderful sons. But one by one, they all died. Even in the dream, he didn’t cry. When he woke up, he realized that it was all just a dream, and he didn’t have to cry.
He went on to explain that life is like a dream, and when we are in ignorance, we cry for every little reason. But in his dream, when he realized that it was just a dream, he didn’t cry. So why should he cry now when his son had passed away? Dream and reality are the same.
The doctor was amazed by the farmer’s perspective and realized that he had learned a powerful lesson about the nature of reality and the importance of maintaining a positive perspective.
In the end, the doctor walked away from the experience with a newfound appreciation for the power of perspective and the strength of the human spirit.
