Right from our childhood, we all have heard about the famous sayings – “As you sow so shall you reap”, “What goes around comes around”, and the renowned Newton’s Law “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”. But have we ever questioned or thought about the law behind this which functions to give good for good and bad for bad. That Law is “Law of Karma”.
Karma means “action” or “deeds”. If you do good to others, that good will come back to you and if you do bad to others, even that bad will come back to you. This is Law of Karma and it works unfailingly and in an unbiased way.
Let us now see a story of two brother’s which will help us understand this concept in a better way.
Long ago, there lived two brothers’ in Garimapur – Jaideep and Hari. Jaideep was a rich man and an owner of a well run Dhaba. Unfortunately, his younger brother Hari was a poor labourer. Jaideep was an arrogant man and had pride on his wealth. On the other hand, Hari had helping nature, humanity and was very down to earth, humble person.
One day, Nandlal, the King of Garimapur, decided to visit his kingdom and test his subjects (people). He wanted to see how his subjects are living and whether they help others in times of need. So, the King disguised himself as poor cobbler who did not have any money and was very hungry.
The King first went to Jaideep’s house and said, “Sir, I am very hungry. Please help me and give me some food to eat.” Though Jaideep had a big Dhaba and ample amount of food at his place, he still avoided the poor hungry cobbler and did not give any food to eat. The King was extremely shocked to witness such a behaviour from Jaideep’s side.
He then went ahead at Hari’s house and said, “Sir, I am very hungry. Please give me some food to eat.” Hari’s condition was not that good. But still, he decided that he would help the hungry man. He invited him inside his house, offered him seat and treated him with great respect. Hari said, “Please wait for few minutes. I will cook food and give it to you. Till then you get fresh and have a seat.” The King was happy to see Hari’s generous behaviour.
Hari cooked food and offered the cobbler (King) to eat. The King was highly impressed with the taste of the food. He thanked Hari for the food and appreciated him for his amazing cooking skills. Hari revealed that he loves cooking, but, never pursued it as a profession. The King was very contended with Hari’s humanitarian behaviour and food he had. The King thanked him again and took his leave.
The next day was a fate changer for both Jaideep and Hari. Unfortunately, Jaideep’s Dhaba caught fire due to fuel mismanagement. Thankfully, no person was injured. But, his entire Dhaba business suffered a downfall. On the other hand, the King sent a message to Hari and called him to meet at his Palace. Hari went to the King’s Palace. The King told Hari, “I was the one who came at your place yesterday, dressed up as a poor needy cobbler.” Hari was dumbstruck after hearing this. The King then told Hari that he was very happy with his generous, courteous behaviour and food he gave to eat. The highly impressed King gifted Hari with a bag full of Gold coins and offered him to join his Palace as one of the Head Chefs for which he would be paid handsome salary. Hari’s happiness knew no bounds. He was on cloud nine. He thanked the King for this. Hari’s life and financial condition soon became better and he lived a very contended life..
This is how your deeds, whether good or bad comes back to you. This is LAW OF KARMA. So, do good deeds and the good will definitely come back to you. Keep the circle of your deeds positive and good, respect everyone, help others in whatever manner you can, maintain harmonious relationships with everyone, behave in a good way.., because you will receive what you give to other’s.
Think good,
Speak good,
Do good..,
And all these good deeds will come back to you in a multiplied way. Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us.
Karma never loses an address.
